Topics
There are three topics for each year. Each person can only have ONE submission in any one of the three categories.
Climate Change
The topic of the essay is climate change. You can write about things like how you feel climate change has affected you, why you have a personal connection with solving it, if you have an idea on how to solve it, and so much more. There is a word limit of 1,000 words.
Changemaker
In this category, you will research about a problem you see in your community and how you would solve it. The goal is to introduce a problem to the judges and then give a detailed plan of its impacts, why you and your community need to solve it, and what the solution would look like. Remember, the proposal must be something you can do!
Short Story
In this category, you will write a short story following the theme: "Change." It can be as creative as you want it to be and has to fit within 800 words.

Each winning prize will be published in a local magazine and later published on our website. There are three groups: Elementary School (3-5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (9-12).
There will be one winner for the short story and climate change each. Each will win $40.
